Nebraska is officially part of the Big 10. A couple of talking heads from ESPN jaw about the prospect of the Huskers winning the League Title right out of the gate... personally, I wouldn't be down with that. Nebraska is a good program- and it's incumbent on the rest of the conference to play up and I think if everyone gives their best, it could be a damn good season for everyone- not just the Huskers. But I think with games at Wisconsin, Ohio State and Penn State to tackle, Nebraska won't quite get the job done this season. Maybe next season. But not this season.
UPDATED: The Huskers sure are happy to be here:
A quick primer on all things Nebraska for us Big Ten Veterans.
They're replacing the Big 12 Logos on campus...
It's not all about the sports either. Let us not forget the academic side of things...
And they even declared it Big Ten Day! The Governor got balloons and everything...
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Nebraska was an awesome move on the Big 10's part. They were irrelevant in the Texas and Oklahoma dominated Big 12 and they play the hard hitting, defensive minded football that seems to fit right in with the Big 10 style of play. We'll have to wait a couple of months to see how well they will do (probably pretty well, I'm guessing.) but they were the best possible choice the Big 10 could have made. And I'm glad they're pumped about it!
