Finally!

Something might actually be built on Hieronymous Square! The lot at the corner of Clinton and Burlington Streets (one of the busiest intersections in town) has been empty for as long as I can remember and in a stroke of good news, it looks like the University of Iowa might be joining up with the current landowners to get the School of Music into a multi-story, multi-use facility on part of the land, and putting a new Clapp Recital Hall into the other chunk of it.

If the University can get their ducks in a row on this, I think it'd be an awesome thing. I would have preferred to see a new Museum of Art built there, but that's another battle and another blog posting, I think...
